Frequently Asked Questions
In vitro fertilisation (IVF) is a process by which eggs are fertilised by sperm outside the body, in vitro. IVF is a major treatment in infertility which offers the best chances for a couple to conceive in one cycle.
ICSI or Intracytoplasmic sperm insemination is an in vitro fertilization procedure in which a single sperm is injected directly into an egg. ICSI is recommended in cases of poor sperm count, motility or morphology / previous failed IVF cases/ when using testicular or epididymal sperm.
If you have been diagnosed with bilateral tubal blockade, poor sperm parameters, nil sperms, premature ovarian failure, failed IUI attempts, advanced endometriosis, long standing infertility then you will need IVF.
You will need to visit the centre 5-6 times during the entire process. Its not necessary for the male partner to accompany every time. however we would prefer to see him for the 1st visit and then on the day of egg retrieval to provide semen sample.
1st visit : During this visit u will have a transvaginal sonography, examination, blood tests , registration and consents.
2nd visit : Will be planned on 2nd or 3rd day of period . Blood for hormones will be sent and a sonography will be done. If reports are satisfactory, injections for egg growth will be started . Dose and type of injections are based on your history, bodyweight, age , scan(antral follicle count) and blood reports (Antimullerian hormone)
3rd visit : will be planned after 4-5 days of injections to look for the ovarian response and titrate the dose of medications.
Day of trigger : Once the follicle size is 17-19mm the final injection is given (HCG) usually at night (10pm -12am) .
We prefer to give you this injection in the IVF center so if you stay outside Agra then make necessary arrangements.
Egg retrieval procedure is planned 34-36 hours after HCG injection. It’s a simple procedure done under general anesthesia lasting for hardly 15-20 minutes. You will be discharged the same day after 2-3 hrs.
Final visit is on the day of embryo transfer. This day you have to report with full bladder. The fertilization report and the number of embryos to be transferred will be discussed with you. You will be discharged after 1 hour of procedure. We don’t admit you even for a single day .
Our success rates are overall 75 % and take home baby rates 66% which are similar to any good centre nationally or internationally. Most couples would have conceived in 2-3 cycles.
We pride ourselves on our ethical and transparent practice.
